Back to School! Three words that evoke a
multitude of emotions. Parents rejoice, children,
for the most part, claim not to be happy. As
adults we may not be literally "going back to school",
yet our mentality changes as we all become more
structured in our routines. We start a "New
Year".
Lifelong learning has been proven to keep us sharp
as we move forward in adulthood. There are so many
ways to continue the learning process. Ann-Marie
DePalma provides insight into her experience at Under
One Roof, (UOR) the annual dental hygiene continuing
education program presented by RDH Magazine and PennWell
Publishing each summer in this month's eNews.

| Get to Know Ingrid! |
 Ingrid has
been with RDH for 13 years, temping as a CDA. She has
worked for RDH Temps all over Massachusetts and now
resides in Exeter, NH with Jim, her husband of 2 years,
and their overweight cat.
She took on the role of Interviewer for new applicants to
RDH Temps in NH last year and manages to combine that
with her full time job in Maine.
On a personal note, Ingrid's son and
daughter-in-law recently presented Ingrid with her
first grandchild, a little boy, born on August
3rd. Her daughter and son-in-law will be having Ingrid's
second grand son in November. So she is loving being a
Grandma. One of Ingrid's
favorite activities is white water rafting in Maine
with her younger daughter. "The two of us spend a lot of
time together travelling and trying out new 'stuff'".
Ingrid's husband is thrilled that he doesn't have to do these
things; however, he has promised her a belated-honeymoon trip
rafting down the Grand Canyon. In quiet times,
just 'hanging with the hubby' is the
best.

Ann-Marie DePalma, RDH,
MEd, FAADH, RDH Temps Area Representative and
Interviewer, recently attended Under One Roof in Chicago IL. She has provided a great article for
this months RDH Temps eNews about this educational (and fun!)
conference.
UOR - you may have seen this acronym, but do you know
what it means? Under One Roof, (UOR) is the annual
dental hygiene continuing education program presented by
RDH Magazine and PennWell Publishing each summer. UOR started
in the early 2000s with a group of about 100 hygienists in
attendance. Since its humble beginnings, this year's
attendance was slightly over 1000!
Have you ever wished for a convention that is
specifically geared for dental hygienists? UOR is your wish
granted. UOR is exclusively for the hygienist, whether
you are a recent graduate or a seasoned professional.
Hygienists from across the country and around the world attend
to learn about the latest techniques and products, hear
exceptional speakers and generally have an awesome time.
The conference is sponsored by PennWell, the publishers of RDH, Dental Economics and Woman
Dentist Journal. There is also generous support from
numerous corporations who see the importance of dental
hygienists in the dental profession. These corporations
support dental hygienists in a variety of ways; providing
product samples, sponsoring continuing education programs, and
hosting amazing parties, as well as off-site events.

Charles River, Boston. This year,
our goal is to raise $25,000 and have 150
walkers.
We are looking for handmade crafts, as well as money
donations and walkers for our team. Any contribution is
fantastic!
We
will be selling our crafts live at the second annual
Fall Harvest Festival at Wards Berry Farm, Sharon,
MA on Saturday, September 13th from 10-4. There
will be guest appearances:
10am
to Noon Rami Salami, world famous
clown, will be making a special appearance for our team. Get
your balloon animal and check out our crafts. Learn more about Rami Salami!
Also,
the crafts will be sold on the evening of Friday, September 26
at Laugh, Eat, Shop, a Nevaeh Production,

| Sensodyne Dental Health Spa at the Big
E |
Touring the country to provide dental education in
a relaxing and fun atmosphere, the Sensodyne Dental
Health Spa will give visitors to the Big E the opportunity to have an oral
health care discussion with an ADHA member who will provide helpful
information concerning tooth sensitivity and acid wear.
The Sensodyne Dental Health Spa will
be at the fair starting Friday, September 12th and
will run through Friday, September 19th.
The tour
also offers spa-goers toothpaste samples, coupons, brochures,
and a spa gift bag.
RDH Temps, Inc. dental hygienists will
be working to supplement the permanent Sensodyne
staff. The hygienists will be working in a large tent
and they each have their own private consultation
station. Looks like a fun and rewarding work
environment!
 If you will be
attending the Big E, please be sure to visit the Sensodyne
Dental Spa. If you have a camera with you, take
some photos and send them along to send them along to RDH Temps.
