Dentists are Increasingly Using and Working as Temporary Dentists

Why would a dentist need a
dentist to come into their office from  an  agency?  There are  a myriad  of  reasons  that  a practice may need a dentist to come in to help.   The current dentist in the practice may be out  on  a  medical  leave, maternity  leave,  extended vacation  time  or  military service.    He  or  she  may  be thinking of adding or needing to replace  an  associate in  the practice,  but  isn't  ready  to commit.  Perhaps, as with other auxilliaries,  the  facility  may prefer  a  working interview situation to see if the ethics and personality  create  a  good match. Or maybe just to see if the concept of adding another dentist into the practice feels right. 

On the other side of the coin,
why  would  a  licensed  dentist work  as  a  temp  through  an gency?   Perhaps the dentist recently sold their practice, but is not ready to go into full time retirement mode yet or realizes after doing so, that they miss
working,  but  not  the
responsibilities  of  owning  a
practice.
