Temporary Assignments

What to expect when calling in a request for temporary personnel:

We'll ask whether you're looking for a dentist, dental hygienist, dental assistant or dental administrative personnel. If you had a temp before that you'd like to have again, we will try to arrange that for you.

The personnel coordinator will review your profile and discuss any requests for specific skills, specialty experience, additional credentials and/or software.

You will be asked to provide the date(s) and times you need coverage. We will ask what time the temp should arrive and when the day is expected to end. We recommend you set an arrival time 15 minutes prior to the start of the first appointment.

A base pay rate must be set for the assignment. This is the hourly rate, before taxes, that will be paid to the RDH Temps employee who works at your facility. We can suggest a base rate based on prevailing wages in your area and market conditions.

RDH Temps will start the process of matching a dental professional to your assignment based on your requirements, your preferences, your location and the dates and times of the job. Once we have found a candidate we will call your office and confirm. If there is a delay in filling your job, we will keep you updated.

When the temp arrives for their assignment, please welcome them and orient them with the office including the location of safety equipment and restrooms.

As the day progresses, RDH Temps may check in to ensure everything is going well. If there are any questions or concerns don't hesitate to call RDH Temps. There is almost always a personnel coordinator available to talk with you.

At the end of the day the temp should fill out their time slip. If you expect this will be the last time this individual will be temping at your office for the week, then you should also verify and sign the time slip. The temp keeps the original and your office keeps a copy.

At the end of the week, RDH Temps will pay the temp, process your payment and send your receipt. Your cost is calculated at the base rate you selected times the number of hours plus 24% direct costs. RDH Temps charges a management fee of 25% of this total. Direct costs are pass-through costs such as employer taxes, insurance, mandatory benefits and payroll processing. The management fee is what allows the business to function and covers operations, recruiting, candidate screening and more.
